Backpack Buddies Program - Paperwhites to donate backpacks!!!

No need to do anything special - all orders over $250 will add another backpack to our donation! :-)
The backpack buddies program and interfaith food shuttle is something in our community we really believe makes a difference. These kids need our help more than ever! This year we are changing it up a bit and donating backpacks to the cause. Stay tuned for updates on how many backpacks we end up being able to buy!
How it works...
The food bank collects backpacks and monetary donations as part of their "backpack buddies" program. They are filled again and again for some of the 91,000 children on free or reduced lunches in our area. They are given to kids for the weekends through their schools on Fridays so they have food to eat on weekends! How neat is that!

Stamps...Stamps...Stamps

Thankfully there are fun options beyond the liberty bell or the kitschy "wedding stamps" - have you seen the new ones? Can we say CHEESY?
The way I see it there are a few more fun options out there...
Option One: Design your own
At places like zazzle.com or stamps.com, postage can be designed from photos, image and personalized to your event! You can't get more personalized then that! Once we used a vintage postcard image of a courthouse for two attorneys who were getting married. The significance? It was where they met when they were law students working as clerks. The stamp even landed in the hands of the judge! Neat stuff.
Option Two: Unused Vintage Postage Stamps
There is nothing more fun that finding vintage postage stamps for your envelopes. Remember you may need to use a lot of them to add up to the postage it requires to mail stamps these days. If you are hand addressing, consider you may need to allow extra space for those stamps. Do a sample first with stamps before you write on the envelopes! A good tip is to find as many high face-value stamps as possible first and add on accordingly. Anything above 15 cents is a seriously good find! Most vintage stamps range from 3 to 8 cents and if you do the math, you will need rows and rows of little ones to add up to the correct postage.
Tips:
Be sure they are unused (and confirm that they CAN be used for postage)
Look for a local stamp shop or on ebay (search unused US stamps), kenmore stamp, Champion Stamps
Option Three: During your engagement watch for limited edition stamps that are cool!
Right now there are some awesome "king and queen of hearts" stamps that are neat! It can be especially hard to find a large selection anymore especially as quickly as the post office has been raising postage rates. Good Luck everyone!
A Mountain Wedding to Remember...

I don't know why, but Leah and Chris have always stuck with me. There was just something very special about them. I did this invitation almost two years ago, but I thought it would be a nice time to dig it out of the archives and do a post about it! Recently we have done invitations for a few other mountain weddings. To me, the mountains are just magical, God's country. They just touch my soul.
Leah and Chris were one of our "custom" couples. In our initial meeting I learned that the bride would be wearing a blush pink gown. The groom would be in chocolate brown. They wanted brown and green in their invitations, but also wanted blush pink into it somewhere. The following is the result.
We did 7x7 pocket invitations in French Roast tied with hemp. The invitation mats are blush pink and wasabi green. There were several outdoor design elements that were all tied in to the invitation and again repeated on the wedding day. We worked with "foryourparty.com" for the napkins. They were able to take our custom artwork and make the napkins and matches. Enjoy!
these napkins summarize this couple, just plain great to work with, we created the custom artwork that went on the napkins...
